The Birds Christmas Carol by Kate Douglas Wiggin

The Story of Holly and Ivy by Rumer Godden
I am writing this the day before Christmas, and I can only anticipate the book reading quiet that will descend upon the house. Blankets will be snagged, and hot drinks will be made. Eggnog latte? Cocoa? Irish coffee? Only time will tell. I wonder which fortunate favorite the cat will choose? Let the reading fest begin.

Fun, fun, fun! I read all the Betsy books last summer. I love The All of a Kind Family books, too. Merry Christmas!
sweet sweet sweet! Some of my favourites. Sarah and I are big Cordelia Underwood fans, Betsy Tacy fans and of course Holly and Ivy. Also the Birds' Christmas Carol - deliciously old-fashioned. Now I need to check out Robert F Capon - a most intriguing title. Happy reading!
Comments! When did you add comments, and how did I miss them?
I just picked up a vintage copy of The Birds' Christmas Carol at My Favorite Thrift Store today! I'd never heard of it before, but I have a weakness for red Christmas books, so I bought it. It's dated 1916. I've only read the first two or three chapters, but it practically had me in tears while was reading it on the way home from the thrift store.
Blessings on you this Christmas!
Holly and Ivy is a favorite as are the Betsy books. I'm reading Diane Ackerman's newest all about dawn. It is lovely.
