Soundtrack for today

Duets
I am still learning about my mother. When I asked what she wanted to listen to today, she wanted to hear a Barbra Streisand duet CD.

Okay.

Enter iTunes and we have Barbra and Frank Sinatra and Neil Diamond and more keeping us company at Mom's.

Duets

Music I will always remember.

oh man. i have ALWAYS loved 'you don't bring me flowers'. interesting timing for Queen Jean. :) We prayed for her tonight at church during our evening prayer(ish) gathering. We sang the Phos Hilaron both to open and to close:

O gracious light, pure brightness of the everliving Father in heaven. O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed, now as we come to the setting of the sun, and our eyes behold your vesper light, we sing your praises O God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices, O Son of God, O giver of life, and to be glorified through all the worlds.

How's that for context? So lovely. To pray for you and Jean is such a privilege. Thanks for sharing the journey with us all. Hope she still has the prayer shawl from us, the loopy Episcopalians in Wisconsin. :)

Love,
Steph

Steph,

She has it draped over her RIGHT NOW. She loves it. I love it.

Dear Diane,
Thinking of you and your dear mother. I've always loved Neil Diamond. His Greatest Hits album always brings me back to summers in the late 1970s when my family moved to Los Angeles. And Barbra can sing like no one else.

Sending love and comfort across the miles.
